About Malakite

Hi! I'm Aparna Venkateswaran

I am an Education Consultant and professional coach based in San Jose, CA. I'm the founder of Malakite Coaching and Education Consulting LLC.



My career journey began as an engineer, and I obtained a Master's Degree in Engineering. However, life led me down a different path, and I chose to stay at home to raise my daughter, wearing many different hats during those almost 14 years. This phase of my life allowed me to learn and grow in numerous ways. Through volunteer opportunities, I discovered my passion for connecting with and supporting both teenagers and adults, finding true joy in these interactions.

I wanted to help and empower teens and adults in all critical phases of their lives. To hone my skill set further, I pursued my college counseling certificate at UCLA Extension and a professional coach certification at iPec (Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching).

While doing my programs, I began helping a few people with college applications and coaching. I liked giving one-on-one personal attention and interaction, which sparked my vision to bring “Malakite” to life in April 2022.

As a committed lifelong learner, I actively seek continuous professional growth by participating in workshops,attending classes, engaging in webinars,trainings and conferences. My commitment to growth led me to become a Certified Highlands Ability Battery Consultant and a Tiny Habits® Certified Coach. These certifications give me tools to guide students and adults to understand themselves and take tiny and impactful action steps to enhance their overall well-being.

"Malakite Coaching and Education Consulting" believes in the uniqueness of every individual. My mission is to coach teens and adults to gain clarity and focus, enhance creativity, discover solutions to their challenges and help them lead an empowered life. I am dedicated to educating and guiding high school students through all aspects of the college admissions and application process. My extensive research and college tours help students find a place that feels like a home away from home, And it doesn’t stop there! I continue to coach and guide students through their transition to college
